There is something a bit weird going on. Been sorting through my photos from the last week & LOADS of clouds are forming with open mouths. This is not normal. You'd get one every now and then but honestly, they're EVERYWHERE.

I, of course, welcome our new Chompy Cloud Overlords but still... it's a bit odd. There is, I suppose, a slight chance that I have just spent too long looking at clouds.

It's a mystery 🧐

You know how the wee window you type in asks "What's on your mind?" before you've written anything?

Sometimes, when I've posted the picture and it's just sitting there with that question above, I just think "well, not very much, obviously".

Anyhow, apropos of nothing in particular, have another cloud.

The cloud looks like a number of fairly smooth clouds stacked together, and there is a V shaped gap in the middle which I have predictably added teeth to, then eyes above. It's looking very excited about the big, leafless tree on the right hand side.

"Golden Drapery", Scotland's Ancient Caledonian Forest (2024).

A crown of floating pines. This is a common occurrence on Scottish lochs and tells a deeper story of the #landscape. Deer can't access these islands and so isolated patches of ancient woodland remain unscathed — if we look across the shore, we see the barren backdrop beyond. I loved the way these backlit #autumn birch leaves framed the scene, giving a sense of time and place.

Welcome to the historical town of St Andrews. Featuring the world's 3rd oldest English-speaking university, the ruins of St Andrews clifftop castle, and an otherworldly rock formation east of the town.
