Plastic Model Robot<p>Hey <a href="https://mas.to/tags/HomeAssistant" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>HomeAssistant</span></a> gurus, looking for some ideas here. I ditched my Echo devices, and I'm looking to replace them with HA alternatives. Mainly, I just need something Bluetooth- and (preferably) Internet-enabled that I can link Spotify to, and possibly setup a timer, weather service, etc (though those last two aren't as critical). </p><p>I've never used HA before, so fire away with any suggestions! Thanks in advance!</p><p><a href="https://mas.to/tags/smarthome" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>smarthome</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/smartspeaker" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>smartspeaker</span></a> <a href="https://mas.to/tags/goodbyealexa" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>goodbyealexa</span></a></p>

Ian<p>Advice please on getting a <a href="https://toot.wales/tags/smartspeaker" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>smartspeaker</span></a> for my mum.<br>Her <a href="https://toot.wales/tags/eyesight" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>eyesight</span></a> is deteriorating and things like driving the LG tv by aiming a stupid pointer on the screen are infuriating.<br>Also just to be able to say "Call…" to make an old-school phone call would be great.<br>She has an Android phone and an iPad, both are becoming difficult to use.<br>Pointers welcome on what Apple / Google / Amazon / others can actually do to help my mum.<br><a href="https://toot.wales/tags/accessibility" class="mention hashtag" rel="nofollow noopener noreferrer" target="_blank">#<span>accessibility</span></a></p>
