An American bushtit in our tree. We hear these often, but rarely see them. This one stayed on the branch for maybe 30 seconds and then flew off.
Circling high overhead at my son’s ultimate tournament this weekend, this red-tailed hawk was the first of the raptors that we saw. Stayed high, making it a challenge to get with the RF 100-400mm lens I had on the camera to shoot the frisbee action.
Of all the birds that come to the tree, this little Anna’s hummingbird is proving to be the bravest. Happily sitting just outside the window, and not moving even when I open it or move around with the camera.
Was lucky enough to get some shots of a chestnut-backed chickadee in our tree using the #TTArtisan 500mm manual focus lens. These birds don’t sit still for long, and the very stiff focus ring on that lens makes it hard to quickly focus, but it was the lens I had on the camera. Not quite as sharp as I’d like, but not bad.
An Anna’s hummingbird landing on a small branch in a tree. This one without the rolling shutter effect!
