The problem with undertaking a major project on one of your cars when you have an all-BMW fleet, is that sometimes before you can finish that project, your other cars need work, too. I am working my way back to the wagon this week through all of our other cars.

Today I replaced the sway bar end links in the i3. No more squishy sounds going over bumps. I also replaced the dead battery in the E90, which I will have to code (yes, really), and then it needs a transmission service. #WeirdCarMastodon

Yesterday, I posted a picture of the spectacular jet-powered Rover-BRM Le Mans racer from 1963. Today, we fast forward to the next Rover-BRM car, the Rover 200 BRM, introduced in 1998 to add a bit of zip to the R3 range with a top sporty model. Red quilted leather interior, BRM-typical orange nose detailing. I think the reason they didn’t make this an MG was to avoid diluting the impact of the then-new MGF. Snapped at the NEC Classic Car Show, 2024.

Anyway, I left with my P5's old rear axle, came back with a P5 axle housing, a Pitman arm, and a door that is in worse condition than all the ones I have.

I need some weld-on bits off the P5 axle but it seems an awful shame to chop up a complete & perfectly-functioning axle. So I did a swap with a P5 parts guy for an empty axle housing, which I don't mind chopping up.

And the door: I have Ideas. And instead of testing Ideas on good doors I bought a fucked one to test it on.
