God damn Applebot is DDOSing my web server. I hate AI. #WebDev
wouldn't it be cool to know how to edit my google search information for my website?
It's here! The browser game that I designed, coded and drew the artwork for! Please give it a try and let me what you think!
Fuck it. How DO you pronounce Nginx?
Play my browser game!
Try to discover all the entities in the biome. Once you have this knowledge, try to uncover them in the shortest amount of time!
I am once again faced with the bleak irony of people who install onto their computer some 5 or 10 apps via FlatPak or Docker, including VSCode, each installed with their own entire copies of Node.js and Electron.js (differing only in their minor revision number), while also complaining about Emacs being “bloated” because it ships with a miniature web browser and fully-featured e-mail client.
I've been writing a new personal site from scratch. It's been a while since I've done a site design entirely by hand, without any frameworks to lean on.
It's been a lot of fun, and I've been honing my html5 and css3 skills - trying to do everything the *right* way. Making use of some of the more esoteric CSS properties I'd never bothered with before (like margin-inline or padding-block) .
I've made all the graphics myself using #svg (thanks #inkscape!).
I'm focusing on having a *microscopic* footprint, with minimum connections (one markup, one stylesheet).
This week, my employer (Lullabot), laid off 20 of the most brilliant, talented and amazing human beings I have ever met (though I was not one of them, and you better believe the survivors guilt is rough).
If you or your company are looking for a #frontend, #backend, or general #webdev developer within the #drupal community (or outside of it), please message/reply so I can make a connection!
The latest release of the US Web Design System has been released! It includes a PR that I had started working on back in Dec of 2023 :)

The web framework I wrote:
* Generates main content of each page dynamically (with sub 100ms response times)
* Delivers ~1mb of JS, still is incredibly fast
* Delivers ~500kb of CSS without significant render blocking
* Provides a custom frontend framework that enables developers to provide dynamic async functionality by writing mostly HTML
* Tight front/backend integration

Started out the day with some John Lee Hooker, now onto some Slightly Stoopid.
Making adding an address form + validation much more enjoyable.
just under TWO WEEKS until the submission deadline for Good Internet magazine!
Good Internet launches in May 2025. it's a volunteer-run, not-for-profit print and digital quarterly magazine for personal website owners and those interested in using the internet as a means of self-expression, art, and recreation.
we're looking for 1,500 to 4,000 word articles about anything for that audience!
this means #webdev hobbyists, digital (and traditional) #artists, #internet culture enthusiasts, #technology nerds, #socialmedia expatriates, & anyone who wants to unplug from the corporate-owned #web.
topics could be:
* internet history
* personal websites & blogs
* #accessibility on the #indieweb
* finding inspiration for a #blog
* #webdesign trends (current or old)
* running from the #enshittification of the web
* lessons or post-mortems from web projects
* news or overviews of #opensource projects
* #privacy on the indieweb
also looking for any #art submissions centered around the web, coding, internet culture, and digital art!
if it relates to hobbies on "this side of the web," we probably want to run it!
you can have your article submitted as text and images only OR you can code a whole webpage that helps tell your story!
if you're interested in learning more, sign up for our email list or check out the submission guidelines @ https://goodinternetmagazine.com!
(please boost if you can! <3 getting the word out helps so much!)
